Fit, Safety & Best Use

📏 Proper Sizing

• Always measure both neck (collar) and chest/girth (harness)
• Fit should be snug but never tight
• You should comfortably fit two fingers under the collar or straps
• Check fit weekly — puppies grow fast

🦴 Collars: When & How to Use

• Choose lightweight, adjustable collars
• Best used for ID tags and everyday wear
• Do not walk puppies on collars to avoid neck strain
• Remove collars during crate time to prevent snagging or injury

🐕 Harnesses: Walking & Training

• Harnesses distribute pressure safely across the chest
• Ideal for walks, leash training, and outings
• Should not rub under the arms or restrict shoulder movement
• Step-in or overhead harnesses work well for puppies
• Adjustable straps allow room for growth

🔍 Safety Checks

• Watch for:

  • Redness
  • Hair loss
  • Chafing
• Replace gear as soon as it becomes snug or uncomfortable

⭐ Recommended Setup

• Collar → ID tags only
• Harness → all walks and leash use

This combo is the safest and most comfortable for puppies.

A crate with a divider creates a safe, comfortable space that grows with your puppy.
Key benefits:

• Supports potty training – Puppies naturally avoid soiling their sleeping area. A properly sized space helps them learn bladder control faster.
• Prevents accidents – Too much space can encourage a puppy to potty in one corner and sleep in another.
• Promotes security – A smaller space feels cozy and den-like, helping puppies feel calm and safe.
• Grows with your puppy – As your puppy gets bigger, the divider can be moved back, eliminating the need to buy multiple crates.
• Encourages good habits early – Teaches appropriate rest, routine, and boundaries.
